To succeed, you need consequences.

You won't change your ways if nothing is at stake.

Look at the incentive system behind some of the most important things in life:

Quit vaping. Put money on the line.
Get checked randomly.

Serious about this? External accountability and immediate cost is the most powerful combination you can use.

  1. 1

    Commit

Choose your program and put money on the line: enough that losing it would genuinely sting. It stays yours as long as you don't vape. You only pay a one-time program fee today.

  2. 2

    Get checked

About twice a week, at a random time, we text you a link. You have 24h to take a quick at-home nicotine test and make a live capture.

  3. 3

    Stay clean

Your assigned reviewer keeps you accountable by verifying every capture. Negative? You carry on, vape-free, until the program is complete. Positive? The money on the line is charged and the pact ends.

Why I built QuitPact

A friend of mine tried to quit vaping for about ten years. Five real attempts, probably more. He tried everything: swapping the habit for something else, avoiding the friends who vaped, going out less, drinking less, every quit app on the store. Nothing stuck.

Then, with nothing left to try, he paid thousands of dollars for a specialised therapy. The therapy itself was mediocre. But he never vaped again. Not because of the sessions: because he couldn't bear the thought of all that money having bought him nothing. Even when the cravings were brutal, that one thought held.

That's when it clicked for me. What finally worked had nothing to do with willpower, patches or good advice. It was a simple, powerful piece of human psychology. So I built a system around it: a pact with a fixed length, money on the line, and random nicotine checks. No app to open every day, no check-ins, no coaching. One thing, done seriously: you commit, we check, you keep your money.

Shawn, founder

Stop vaping. The costs outweigh the benefits.

But you already know that. With QuitPact, you just make it a little more obvious, immediately. So later doesn't get you.

  1. Today

Make your pact and start a new chapter.

  2. In a few days

    Complete your first check.

  3. Ongoing

We track your journey; you see your progress piling up.

  4. Just like that

The hard part is done. Wins compound, momentum is in full swing.

  5. End of the program

You've actually done it. You can't remember the last time you felt this good.

Questions

I miss a check?

A check you were told about and didn't submit by noon the next day is a missed check, which is a failure notice. You get 48 hours to appeal. If no message reached you at all (we keep delivery records), it is never a failure; the check is simply rescheduled. There are no late submissions.

The photo is blurry?

An unreadable photo is marked invalid. It never counts against you. You get a new check with a fresh 24-hour window, and the tip to photograph the whole test in good light.

I'm around people who vape?

Secondhand exposure produces cotinine levels far below the test's cutoff, hundreds of times lower in published measurements. Being near vapers does not fail a check; using nicotine does.

I use a different test?

Any cotinine test with a saliva cutoff of 50 ng/mL or lower, or a urine cutoff of 200 ng/mL or lower, works. At your first check you also photograph the box. If we can't accept it, that check doesn't count against you and we point you to the recommended test.

How much does it cost?

One fee for the program, no subscription, no monthly charge. You see the exact price at the end of building your pact, once you've chosen your program. The money you put on the line is separate: you choose it, and it is only charged if you fail.

My card is declined when the commitment is charged?

We retry once after three days, then email you a payment link. No collections agency, no interest, no added fees. We would rather learn from it than chase you.

I change my mind?

Before your quit date: cancel from your dashboard for a full refund, and your card is never charged the commitment. After your quit date, withdrawing counts as a failure under the rules you signed, because otherwise the person about to relapse could simply walk away. You can take a withdrawal back within the 48-hour window.

I'm outside the US?

QuitPact is US only for now: the recommended test, the texting rules and the payment rules are all US-specific. Leave your email on the waitlist and we'll tell you when it opens where you are.

There's no app?

Right. Checks arrive by text with a link that opens the camera in your browser. Nothing to install, nothing to open every day, nothing to subscribe to.

Where are the full rules?

On one page, in plain language: when checks can come, the deadline, appeals, cancelling and what counts as nicotine. Read the pact rules

Who sees my photos?

A member of the QuitPact team reviews every photo. Photos are stored privately, never shared, and deleted 30 days after review (180 days if a photo led to a charge, in case your bank asks). Details are in the privacy policy.
